My Clinical Approach
I've been a practicing counselor for more than 18 years in Central Florida, beginning in community and agency settings where I worked with survivors of trauma, abuse, and complex loss. In 2023, I opened my private practice to focus specifically on the population I've come to know most deeply: helping professionals experiencing burnout, secondary trauma, and the quiet erosion that comes from years of caring for others.
I serve as core faculty in the Graduate Studies in Counseling program at Rollins College, where I teach a range of master's-level courses including Foundations of Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Skills, Career Counseling, Couples Counseling, Practicum, and Internship. I coordinate the Family and Relationship Therapy concentration and serve as the program's CACREP liaison, overseeing our accreditation alignment with the 2024 standards. My faculty work also includes curriculum development, program assessment, and mentoring the next generation of counselors as they move from students into skilled clinicians.
My scholarship focuses on the wellbeing of helping professionals, trauma-informed approaches to counselor education, and the ethics of gatekeeping — how we support struggling trainees while also protecting future clients. I have contributed chapters to edited volumes on these topics and continue to publish and present in the field. I co-created the Flourish wellness program for physician residents at AdventHealth, an experience that shaped my ongoing commitment to designing programming that protects and sustains those who care for others.
My clinical specialty is the treatment of trauma with adults, children, and families. I help clients process what they've carried, often for years, using evidence-based approaches that meet the mind, body, and relational system where they are.

I hold specialized training in:
EMDR — an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess traumatic memories so they no longer carry the same emotional charge in the present.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) — an evidence-based approach that helps clients understand and heal the different parts of themselves, including the ones carrying wounds from the past.
Gottman Method Couples Therapy — a research-based approach to couples work counseling focused on strengthening friendship, managing conflict, and rebuilding trust
